Classic Toys Are Still Great Gift Ideas

There are many toys which have a special place in all Josie and the Pussycats our hearts. Things like The Cabbage Patch Doll, 1908 1909 Rose Company Postcards Cubes, Wooden Trains and Tinkertoys. If these sound familiar to you and tug a little at your heart strings, you're not alone. These toys are the classics most of us grew up with and believe it or not, they're still around today! Take a look at some of these classic toys and consider how wonderful they would be as gifts for your own children...

Original Lincoln Logs: Lincoln Logs were first invented in 1910 as part of the construction set craze which seems to have hit those times. These were released shortly after both Tinkertoys and Erector Sets, and they're absolutely adored by kids - and many adults too! If you look around a bit, you'll find there are actually collector's editions of Lincoln Logs which have beautiful vintage looking wood carrying cases too.

Mr. Potato Head: Can you believe that Mr. Potato Head has been around since Jupiter Robot And he hasn't aged a bit! But he has married Mrs. Potato Head, had his own television show and been featured in two Toy Story movies. With all that fame, who wouldn't want one? This is an all time classic toy that makes a perfect gift for children of all ages.

Chutes and Ladders Game: Chutes and Ladders has been a favorite game among children for generations. Dating back to 1943, it's a great educational toy that helps children learn to retain and recall information. It's ideal for younger children who are still learning to take turns and just beginning to recognize numbers and older children who love exciting back and forth and up and down action. Best of all, Chutes and Ladders is mom approved!

Other wonderful classic toys you should consider as gift ideas for your children include old fashioned rocking chairs, rocking horses, and radio flyer scooters.
