Diva In Training Loses Control Over A Transaction - Refuses To Allow The Professionals Do Their Job!

We`re involved with a Rookie Diva, with only 3 transactions under her belt, she`s going Maryland Lemon Laws direct me, car insurance costs title company and the attorney who is representing the seller! Our buyer received word last Friday from their mortgage company that a few conditions remained and that our closing which was scheduled for Monday, would in fact happen next Friday! Not a big deal anymore, majority of closing don`t really close on time any longer which is acceptable providing that the lender is communicating with all parties involved. We call the Diva -in-training explain the circumstances to her and she goes ballistic! It seems that she won`t accept the fact that we`re not going to be able to close on time and she`s all set to "Pull the deal".... Normally, I don`t waste time lecturing other Realtors about how lenders work, it`s not my position to go into details, except send an addendum to the other Realtor alerting them and their client about the change of a closing date!

The Diva starts ordering me to call the lender, and tell them "HER CLIENT" isn`t going to allow an extension! I explain to her that it`s not happening and that she needs to speak to her client and assure them we`re going to need a few days extra to close!

The conversation is as follows:

Diva: My seller won`t accept this!

Me; Accept what? The fact that we`re going to need a few days to close? The lender just told us they have a few conditions that underwriters are asking for, they don`t seemed concerned why are you?!

Diva: I know my client, they won`t budge on a closing date,I`m sorry we may have to walk!

Me: Walk? interesting we`re closing, the transaction went smoothly until a slight glitch and you`re speaking for the seller. tell you what, have the attorney representing the seller call us and I`ll explain the circumstances, we need to control our emotions now!

Diva: We`ll have to walk, my seller is very upset!

Me: You know, it`s rather interesting that you have only 3 transactions completed in you`re career, and you`re directing this transaction as if this was "The end of the world". The sky isn`t falling and you seem out of control! I suggest that you let the professionals finish this transaction and just sit back and "keep your mouth shut"...

With that I hang up the telephone on the Diva in training, wish her the very best and proceed to contact the attorney who is representing the seller.

I explain to the attorney that the Diva doesn't understand the meaning of an geico auto insurance and we need to send them an addendum.

The attorney starts laughing, tells me that the Diva has been telling her how to conduct herself as well, and that she`s also done speaking to the Diva in training due to the fact that the Diva is a Rookie who refuses to learn! We both share a good laugh, and avert a situation that the Diva thought was so traumatic!

If you`re a Diva in training, may i strongly suggest that before you start to panic, you consult a professional to guide you through...
